My Story

This is my story which I hope will appeal to your charitable nature in helping a charity which is remarkably close to my heart.

In September 2023 I was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer known as Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD). The cancer had spread from my uterus to my liver & was life threatening. On discovery, & due to the rarity of the cancer, I was immediatly sent to Charing Cross Hospital, in London, where the care & treatment I received saved my life. I would now like to give something back to the amazing people & help in their research in stopping this rare cancer.

With the help of the Forest of Dean Community & the customers of the Crown Inn in Coalway I am hoping to raise £2500 for the Cancer Treatment & Research Trust (for GTD research) through several avenues.  Firstly we are going to hold a fund raising Bingo Night at the Crown Inn on Thu 9 Jul. Then, my friends Dot & Marcus, will complete a sponsored cycle from the Houses of Parliament to the Crown Inn between 15 & 18 Jul & finally we will host a Family Fun Day at the Crown Inn on Sat 25 Jul. It will include a raffle, various stalls, a bouncy castle, tombola, childrens sweet stall, a BBQ, bands playing throughout the afternoon & a fund raising karaoke in the evening.

Any help that you can provide either through a monetary donation or prizes for the tombola & raffle would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for helping to support this incredibale charity.
